Creating an Organization

Product version: 1.0.0+1 Last updated: 2026-08-03 Audience: New users creating their first organization

The Create Organization Wizard

When you need a new workspace, the Create Organization wizard sets up your organization (called a tenant). You are designated as the Tenant Owner with full administrative access.

The wizard has three steps. Each step must be completed before proceeding.

If you were invited to an existing organization, you do not need to create one — accept the invitation email and sign in to join that organization.

Step 1: Organization Details

Enter the basic information for your organization.

Organization Name

Your company or organization name. This appears in the workspace header and in organization lists.

Requirement Value
Required Yes
Changeable later Yes — Settings → Organizations → edit form (tenant:update)

URL Slug

A short, unique, URL-friendly identifier (e.g., my-company, acme-corp).

Requirement Value
Required Yes
Allowed chars Lowercase letters, numbers, hyphens
Uniqueness Must be unique across all organizations
Auto-generated From the organization name (editable in the wizard)
Changeable later No — slug is immutable after create (edit form hides the slug field)

Country

Select your country from the dropdown. Country is not a separate field on TenantEntity. At create time it is baked into the organization description (along with organization type). It is not editable later as a dedicated country field.

Organization Type

Choose one profile card:

Type Meaning
Enterprise Larger teams / advanced operations — maps to the enterprise tier
SME / Startup Start on the free tier and scale as you grow

Organization type is also written into the description metadata at create time and used to resolve the initial tier.

Optional fields on review

On the review step you may also add an optional free-text description and website. Those values are stored on the tenant record.

Step 2: Language Selection

Choose your preferred interface language:

Language Label Direction
English English Left-to-right (LTR)
Arabic العربية Right-to-left (RTL)
  • This sets your personal app language for the session (and is applied when you continue).
  • Individual users can change language later from the Settings hub (preferences on the hub body — there is no separate Preferences route).

Step 3: Review and Confirm

The final step shows a summary of your choices, including:

  • Organization name and slug
  • Country and organization type
  • Language
  • Optional description / website (if entered)

Use Back to return to previous steps if needed.

Tap Create Organization to finalize. The system:

  1. Creates the organization record.
  2. Assigns you as owner.
  3. Sets the new organization as your current workspace.
  4. Refreshes your session and pop(true) back to the shell — you land in the merchant workspace for the new tenant.

There is no automatic jump to Plans Catalog, Stripe checkout, or an Active subscription flow. Billing is a separate step.

Creating the organization is free. You will not be charged until you subscribe from Billing.

After Create (Optional Billing Tip)

When you are ready to subscribe:

  1. Open side rail Billing → Plans (or Billing → Subscription).
  2. Choose a plan and complete Stripe Checkout when prompted.

You can invite teammates, add products, and configure inventory without completing billing first (subject to plan limits once a subscription exists).
