Product Catalog — Overview

A. What is the Product Catalog?
The Product Catalog is the central hub for merchandise information in your SanadiqCloud organization. It organizes what you sell into products, SKU-level items, brands, categories, variations, manufacturers, and units of measure.
From the catalog you can:
- Browse the hub — search and open products, view catalog stats, and explore master-data areas
- Create products with the Product Setup Wizard (product + SKUs + gallery in one flow) or with the product form (catalog shell only)
- Manage SKUs on each product — price, barcode, dimensions, variation options, and item images
- Organize products with brands, categories, manufacturers, and units of measure
- Define variations (size, color, material) and options, including color hex swatches when the variation display type is swatch color
- Follow the catalog roadmap — guided checklist from foundations to attributes to products
- Hand off to inventory — create a stock item from a SKU detail page when you have inventory permissions
Note: Access depends on your role. You typically need at least
product:readto view products. Master-data screens use their own permission families (see below). See Permissions Overview.
B. Navigation Structure
Open Product Catalog from the side navigation rail (compact icons on smaller screens, extended labels on desktop).
Catalog hub
The hub shows:
- A search field that opens the Products list in search-only mode
- Catalog stats (counts) and quick actions
- Explore tiles for Products, Brands, Categories, Variations, Units of Measure, and Manufacturers
- Add product in the app bar opens the product form (catalog shell only — no SKUs yet)
- Hero / empty-state CTA can open the Product Setup Wizard
- Link to the Product Catalog Roadmap for guided setup

Creating inventory from a SKU also requires inventory permissions as configured for your role.

Key rules
- A Product may have a brand, manufacturer, and category links.
- SKU, barcode, price, UoM, weight, and dimensions live on the Product Item, not on the product shell.
- Variation options are linked to items through Product Item Configuration and can be changed later from the item detail Variants panel.
- Product-level image is the primary catalog image on the product; item-level images are managed on the SKU detail Images panel.
- The Product Setup Wizard creates one product with one or more items (and optional gallery images) in a single submit — it does not replace Brands / Categories / Manufacturers / UoM list screens for master data.
E. How Merchandise Is Organized
- Create or reuse brands, categories, manufacturers, UoM, and variations from their list screens (or inline “create new” during setup where permitted). Optionally follow the roadmap.
- Create a Product (wizard for first SKUs together, or form then add items).
- Add Product Items — each unique variant gets its own SKU/barcode/price.
- Assign variation options and images on the item (wizard step, or panels on item detail / form after save).
- Optionally open Create inventory item from the SKU detail page to stock that catalog line.
F. Searching and Filtering
Hub search
Type in the hub search field to jump into the Products list with search-only mode (results load after you type a query).
